Feature: Studio Plenty and Sarah Ellison Crack the Code on Urban Dining with Light Years Perth

We’re beyond proud to be featured in Yellowtrace, who perfectly captured the spirit of our newest outpost in Perth.

Studio Plenty and Sarah Ellison Creative have worked their magic to transform a grand heritage building into something warm, cinematic, and unmistakably Light Years with layered textures, bold materiality, and custom furniture set the tone for nights of big flavours and good times.

“The shift of the bar to the centre anchors the room, transforming scale into sociability,” notes Yellowtrace, a move that reframes the architecture while defining the energy of the dining room.

Terracotta mosaics, Fibonacci terrazzo, and sculptural lighting set the stage, while Sarah Ellison’s custom furniture brings curved tactility and subtle Mediterranean notes. As Yellowtrace put it, the result is “rich, layered, and atmospheric — the perfect backdrop for a night of bold flavours and cocktails.”

It’s a reflection of what we always strive for: a dining space that stands shoulder to shoulder with the menu, generous in detail, alive with personality, and distinctly of its place.
